The two main types of lens surgeries are Lens Replacement Surgery which involves removing the eye's natural lens and replacing it with an Intraocular Lens (IOL) and ICL surgery where an Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) is implanted between the eye’s natural lens and the coloured iris

TYPES OF LENS SURGERY
Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are a normal part of the aging process.
As we all age, the lens of our eyes gradually becomes cloudier or hazier. This haze will eventually begin interfering with the ability to see clearly. At this stage, it's time to consider having the cloudy lens removed and replaced with an artificial lens. This is cataract surgery.
REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE (RLE)
Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)
Refractive lens exchange (RLE) uses the same technique as cataract surgery except there is no cataract. The replacement lens is chosen to specifically address your vision needs and reduce your reliance on glasses.
RLE surgery is a great choice for people who are unsuitable for other laser vision corrective surgeries.
ICL Surgery
A New One-Step, Incision-Free Procedure.
An implantable collamer lens (ICL) is an artificial lens that’s permanently implanted in the eye. The lens sits between the iris (coloured part of the eye) and the natural lens) and corrects the vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.
ICL Surgery is a great choice for people who are unsuitable for other laser vision corrective surgeries.
