Refractive Lens Exchange:

  • Placement of an artificial multifocal lens to correct near and far-sightedness
  • Similar to a cataract operation
  • Usually reserved for patients 50 years and older who wears bifocal or reading glasses
  • Painless with mild post-operative discomfort
  • Visual recovery after approximately 1 week

 

Intraocular Contact Lens:

  • Placement of an artificial lens without removing the patient’s natural lens
  • The artificial lens is implanted behind the iris
  • Reserved for patients who falls outside the parameters of Laser Vision Correction Surgery
  • Painless with mild post-operative discomfort
  • Visual recovery after 1 day in most cases
